Moved by their suffering, Guru Nanak Dev Ji stepped back and pressed his thumb onto a small hill. Miraculously, a water fountain gushed forth from the ground. The villagers rushed to the flowing Amrit, drinking, washing, and refreshing themselves, overwhelmed with gratitude.
The Fountain Becomes a Sacred Site
News of this divine water source spread across Nepal. Even the King, hearing of this miracle, visited Guru Nanak Dev Ji for the third time. In honor of this sacred blessing, the King ordered the construction of a beautifully carved stone base around the fountain’s mouth.
498 Years of Eternal Flow
This holy water source, known as Gyan Dhara, has been flowing uninterrupted for 498 years. Even today, people line up to collect water, bathe, and wash their clothes, receiving Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s divine blessings.
This remarkable site stands as a testament to Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s compassion and spiritual power, offering nectar-like water to devotees for centuries.
