Echoes from the Past – Akal Academy’s Moment with Dr. Manmohan Singh in May 2004

A New Beginning – May 18, 2004

Amid the oppressive heat of that fateful May 2004, India embraced a new dawn when Dr. Manmohan Singh was declared the next Prime Minister on the 18th. Overflowing with dreams and a palpable sense of excitement, we swiftly reached out to Mrs. Gursharan Kaur on the 19th, sharing our news that students from Akal Academy Baru Sahib were in the city, eager to meet the soon-to-be national leader. With a warm invitation, she welcomed us into their home at 19 Krishna Menon Marg, a place buzzing with the anticipation of change.

A Meeting of Dreams and Aspirations

The students, their eyes gleaming with admiration, were not just excited but profoundly proud to stand before a turbaned Prime Minister, on the cusp of his official swearing-in on May 22, 2004.

In the Twilight of Hope

In the twilight of a hopeful May, Akal’s students had their day, meeting Dr. Manmohan Singh, calm and grand, before he took the highest stand. His voice, a river, wisdom’s flow, to these young minds, it did bestow. “In his eyes, a future gleamed,” a student mused, with dreams now beamed.

Rhythms of Change and Progress

With rhymes of hope and visions clear, they spoke of change, and all to hear. Before the dawn of his new reign, they felt the pulse of progress gain.
