When Service Meets Compassion, Humanity Wins
In the quiet village of Ellenabad, district Sirsa, Haryana, a wave of selflessness swept through the community. Under the humble shade of the Akal Academy campus, people from all walks of life teachers, villagers, and volunteers gathered not for celebration, but for service. Their mission was simple yet profound to give a part of themselves to save a life.
A Partnership for Humanity
The Akal Academy, Village Ellenabad, in collaboration with the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohematology (ISBTI), organized a Blood Donation Camp that brought the entire village together.
Sirsa, being a backward district, often struggles with severe blood shortages making such initiatives are necessary.
When Community Steps Forward
Teachers and staff members stood shoulder to shoulder with volunteers from The Kalgidhar Trust, encouraging locals to join the noble cause.
This wasn’t just about collecting blood it was about educating the rural community on the importance of donation and guiding them on how to act during emergencies.
The Need is Urgent
Every year, India needs 4 crore units of blood but the availability is only of 40 lakh units just a fraction of what’s required. That gap means lives are lost every day. By holding regular Blood Donation Camps in its 129 rural schools, The Kalgidhar Trust is making sure villages like Ellenabad are part of the solution.
Service as a Way of Life
For The Kalgidhar Trust, blood donation is not a once-in-a-while event it’s a core expression of seva (selfless service). The Akal Academy, Ellenabad Camp was yet another reminder that real change begins when each one of us chooses to act.
A Call to All Students
