In many religious institutions, workers like 🪯 Granthis in Gurdwaras face financial hardships while dedicating their lives to serving the community. Gurcharan Singh and his wife, Simran Kaur, are no exception. As dedicated sewadars at the Vishnu Garden Gurdwara, they have always prioritized the education and well-being of their children—Amrit Kaur (18) and Rehmat Singh (8). Despite financial constraints, Amrit completed her schooling and now seeks employment, leveraging her basic computer skills to support her family.

A Ray of Hope at Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib

Gurcharan Singh found hope at a Sant Samagam held at Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib when he learned about The Kalgidhar Society Baru Sahib. Although Rehmat Singh did not pass the entrance test, the Trust recognized his potential and compassionately enrolled him in a lower grade at Akal Academy Baru Sahib. A psychological evaluation soon revealed that Rehmat has dyslexia.

Rehmat Singh – A Gifted Young Mind Facing Learning Challenges

Rehmat, an inquisitive and intelligent left-handed 8-year-old, has demonstrated remarkable cognitive abilities. His test results on the MISIC scale show a Verbal IQ of 118, a Performance IQ of 106, and a Global IQ of 112. His visual memory and motor skills are strong, but auditory memory remains his primary challenge, affecting his reading and language comprehension skills.
