A New Milestone in Rural Education – 124th Akal Academy Foundation Laid in Jind
In a significant step towards transforming rural education in North India, the foundation stone of the 124th Akal Academy was laid on 17th October at Gurdwara Sacha Sauda, Tehsil Safidon (Jind), Haryana. The ceremony was graced by Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, President of The Kalgidhar Trust and Chancellor of Eternal University, Baru Sahib.
A Sacred Gift of Land by Gurdwara Committee
The land for this noble cause was generously donated by the Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee of Sacha Sauda. A total of 4 acres was offered to the Kalgidhar Trust to help establish a center for value-based and spiritually enriched education for rural children.
Spiritually Charged Inauguration Ceremony
The inauguration was marked by soulful Kirtan performances by students of Akal Academy Balbhera and Sewak Kirtaniyas from Gurdwara Cheema Sahib, who filled the atmosphere with devotion and divine music.
Baba Iqbal Singh Ji’s Inspiring Address
During his address, Baba Iqbal Singh Ji highlighted the rising challenges faced by today’s youth, especially drug and alcohol addiction, and emphasized the need for spiritual education alongside worldly learning. He said:
“We aim to provide children not just academic knowledge but also spiritual grounding so they grow up as responsible, God-fearing individuals who walk on the path of truth and virtue.”
A Vision Becoming Reality – Expansion of Akal Academies
Currently, 129 Akal Academies are functioning or under development across 6,450 villages. Out of these, 117 academies are operational, while 12 are under construction. The newly launched 124th branch at Sacha Sauda aims to begin admissions in the first quarter of 2014.
Progress of Guru Ki Kashi – Akal University Project
On this special occasion, Baba Iqbal Singh Ji also provided an update on the Akal University project at Talwandi Sabo (Guru Ki Kashi). This divine mission is aimed at fulfilling the 4th prophecy of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and is progressing rapidly with support from devotees worldwide.
