A Celebration of Faith, Heritage, and Young Talent
Imagine stepping into Gurdwara Sri Raja Ram, Harchowal. The sacred hall is alive with devotion as children’s voices rise in soulful Gurbani recitations, their hands gracefully tying dumaalas with pride, and their words flowing through poetry and kavishri that honour Sikh tradition.
This was was a vibrant tribute by children of many Akal Academies to Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar Ji’s 350th Shahidi Shatabdi, where faith and talent walked hand in hand.
Competitions Rooted in Gurmat
The atmosphere was charged with inspiration as young students showcased their skills in:-
• Gurbani Kanth (Recitation)
• Dastar & Dumala Tying
• Kavishri & Poetry
• Gurmat Q&A
Among the shining stars were 67 students from Akal Academy Tibber Shone, who carried forward the legacy of Sikhi with devotion and discipline.
Young Achievers, Big Inspirations
• Sidakpreet Kaur (Class 6) – 2nd in Gurbani Kanth
• Mahikpreet Kaur (Class 12) – 1st in Dumala Contest
• Okarpreet Kaur (Class 8) – 2nd in Dumala Contest
• Arshpreet Kaur (Class 11) – 3rd in Dumala Contest
Their medals and certificates weren’t just rewards they were symbols of commitment to Sikh values and culture. Teachers and principals too were honoured for nurturing these seeds of Sikhi.
Heritage in Every Heart
What made the day unforgettable was the way every student left feeling deeper connected to their roots, proud torchbearers of the values of sacrifice, discipline, and faith that Guru Sahib stood for.
350 years of Guru Tegh Bahadar Ji’s legacy echoed in the innocent voices of children who are now carrying it forward.
