Sat Sri Akal! I am Amandeep Kaur from Village Seona, Patiala. As an alumnus of Akal Academy Baru Sahib, I owe my success and journey to this transformative institution that molded me into who I am today.

Humble Beginnings in a Rural Agrarian Family

Born into a typical agrarian family in a small, underdeveloped village in Punjab, I never envisioned the life I lead today in Canada. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Mathematics after completing a Fast Track Diploma in Enterprise Data Management from Sheridan College, I aim to further my studies at the University of Alberta.

A Diverse and Dynamic Path of Growth

My academic journey reflects my love for diversity. Alongside my Master’s, I plan to pursue a minor in Religious Studies and envision a career as both a Database Engineer and a Mathematics teacher.

A Transformative Experience at Akal Academy Baru Sahib

Attending Akal Academy from 1999 to 2008, I experienced holistic development in academics, spirituality, and sports. The Academy instilled dynamism in me, making me an active athlete and leader, including serving as the Captain of the Basketball Team and being named the Academy’s ‘Torch Bearer.’

A Spiritual Foundation and Family Tradition

My family’s connection with Baru Sahib, through my grandfather’s dedication to the institution, led to a tradition of our family members attending Akal Academy. It became our family school, where spiritual and academic excellence thrived.

Cherished Memories and Inspirational Guidance

I treasure the guidance received from Dr. Davinder Veerji, Amarjit Singh Veerji, and Baba Ji during my time at the Academy. Their teachings infused a balance of scientific curiosity and spiritual insight into my life.

Contributions to Sikhism and Community Values

Participating in Dhadivaraan performances and lectures alongside Babaji helped deepen my spiritual roots. For my native society, I advocate for learning to share and letting go of ego as keys to prosperity.
