Honours By the Commanding Officer and 324 Regiment : Decades of Service and Compassion – From Kashmir to Punjab

A Journey of Compassion That Spans Two Decades

When disasters strike, some rise above fear and become beacons of hope. The Kalgidhar Society has done exactly that – proving that sewa (selfless service) is not just an act, but a way of life that transcends time.

2005 – Walking Through the Ruins of Kashmir

In 2005, the devastating earthquake in Kashmir left thousands homeless and hopeless. At a time when the nation was mourning, Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, the revered Founder of The Kalgidhar Society, walked shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Army. Together, they reached the remotest corners of the quake-hit valleys, bringing food, medicines, and hope to those who had lost everything.

This was not just relief work – it was a message that humanity still stands strong when guided by faith and compassion.

Honours for the Decades of Compassionate Sewa – and the Punjab Floods 2025

Fast forward 20 years, and the spirit of sewa still burns bright.
This time, it is Bhai Jagjit Singh Ji, a beloved sewadaar of Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, who leads The Kalgidhar Society’s flood relief efforts in Punjab.

Recently, he was honored by the Commanding Officer and all ranks of the 324 Regiment,
acknowledging the Society’s unwavering commitment to stand with the nation during its toughest hours
.

The Eternal Spirit of Sewa

What connects these two moments – separated by decades – is not just history repeating itself, but the living legacy of selfless service. The faces may change, but the mission remains unshaken: to serve humanity without expecting anything in return.

This is a powerful reminder that when sewa is done with a pure heart, the Almighty ensures that the legacy continues.

A Call to Humanity

The Kalgidhar Society’s journey from Kashmir to Punjab is proof that true compassion never fades. It inspires all of us to rise beyond our differences, extend a helping hand, and keep the flame of humanity alive.
