The Dream of an MBA – A Common Aspiration

How many of us want to become an MBA?
Ask this question to the Indian youth, and you’ll hear thousands of voices saying “I”.
The year 2012 CAT (Common Aptitude Test) the entrance exam for the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management saw more than 2,14,000 students appear for it. The numbers rise sharply every year.
Parents across India aspire to give their children the best guidance possible. As a result, a surge of private institutes now promise to get students into top B-schools if only one can afford the fees.
But wait this is India, the seventh-largest country and the second-most populous in the world, where a large section still lives in rural areas marked by poverty and limited access to education.

Rural Transformation – A Ray of Hope

Despite these challenges, there are countless stories of courageous children who, through their willpower and determination, are building their own monuments of success.
These stories are often made possible by rural transformation initiatives like The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib, which continues to empower the youth of rural India through education.

Building Her Own Monument – The Story of Manjot Kaur

Manjot Kaur, with her awareness of the modern world’s struggles and opportunities, has been steadily constructing her monument of success brick by brick.
A bright student since her school days, Manjot scored 80% in class 10th and 85% in class 12th, showing consistent improvement through sheer hard work and focus.
Her commitment to excellence led her to join Eternal University, Baru Sahib, where she pursued Economics Honours.

Hard Work Always Pays

As the old saying goes “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
Manjot’s choice to study Economics proved to be a wise one when her 1st semester results came out.
She not only surprised her peers but also impressed her professors by securing an ‘A’ grade (above 90%) in her college exams.
Her transformation from an average student scoring 80% to an outstanding performer is a testament to her diligence and discipline.

A Daughter’s Gift to Her Family

Born into a middle-class family in Haryana and raised amid restrictions both financial and societal  Manjot has emerged as a true achiever.
Her father, who runs a transport company, lovingly describes her as the “engine” that drives positive change in their lives.
He believes that a daughter is the best gift from the Almighty, one who always stands strong for her parents.
He proudly supports her ambitions, telling her, “Do what you wish to, I am always there for you.”

Eyes on the Future – The Dream of an MBA

Manjot aspires to become an MBA graduate and work in the corporate sector.
Her dream is well-supported by her family, and she carries full faith in her abilities.
She believes in working hard independently without external help just as she has done throughout her journey so far.

A Beacon of Change in Modern India

In 21st-century India, where gender imbalance still poses a major concern, Manjot’s story shines as a blessing in disguise breaking stereotypes and proving that daughters are not burdens, but beacons of hope and change.
