At The Kalgidhar Trust, our unwavering mission has always been to uplift rural communities by providing value-based, affordable education. Across our 130 Akal Academies and two premier universities – Eternal University and Akal University , we strive to ensure that no deserving student is denied the opportunity to learn and grow due to financial hardship.
The Genesis of a Powerful Alliance
We are proud to spotlight a powerful force helping amplify this mission – our meaningful and evolving partnership with YUVA Unstoppable.
In 2021, a shared vision sparked the beginning of a transformative collaboration, Kalgidhar Trust has championed for decades. YUVA Unstoppable, a leading Indian NGO with a remarkable track record of impacting over 2,000 schools since 2005, recognized the urgent need for accessible, quality education in underserved rural areas.
The Scholarship Program
Through open dialogue and a deep understanding of student realities, we found common ground – a commitment to supporting students from farming, labor, and daily-wage families who struggle to afford education beyond basic schooling. In 2022, this alignment of vision officially took shape through a structured scholarship program aimed at –
- Supporting economically weaker students
- Promoting higher education access
- Encouraging girl child education and first-generation learners
- Reducing dropout rates and boosting employability
YUVA Unstoppable – A Partner in Purpose
YUVA Unstoppable’s role has been instrumental in deepening our impact across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana. Their scholarship model provides financial aid, which instills hope, dignity, and motivation in students poised to become changemakers in their communities.
Together, we are building a robust pipeline of educated youth from rural India, equipped with confidence, skills, and ambition.
The Tangible Impact – Supporting 185 Students Across 19 Districts
This collaboration has already yielded remarkable outcomes.
Over just three academic years, the program has directly supported 185 students from 19 districts across four northern states. From 22 students in 2022–23 to 85 in 2024–25, this growth reflects the strength of our shared approach.
Key Outcomes –
- 185 students retained in schools/colleges with zero dropouts
- Increased enrollment and retention of girl students in higher education
- Enhanced career and placement prospects post-graduation
- Cascading effect in local communities, encouraging others to pursue education
By reducing barriers to education, beyond supporting individuals, we are uplifting entire families and communities, while contributing meaningfully to UN SDGs like Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Reduced Inequalities.
