In a heartwarming initiative blending compassion with community care, Akal Academy, Dakra Sahib, opened its doors to health and healing by hosting a Free Eye Medical Camp from September 23rd to 25th, 2015. Organized in collaboration with Sanjeevni Eye Care, this noble endeavor brought together medical expertise, school leadership, and the vibrant curiosity of young learners.

With a deep understanding that good vision is essential to academic success, the camp aimed at early diagnosis and prevention of vision-related problems among children. As the saying goes, “Eyes are the windows to the soul” and ensuring they stay healthy is the first step toward unlocking the true potential of every student.
Champions Behind the Scenes
The camp was spearheaded by the distinguished Dr. O.P. Arya, former Civil Surgeon & Principal, along with his expert team from the Haryana Civil Medical Services. Together, they transformed the school premises into a makeshift eye clinic fully equipped with diagnostic tools, testing stations, and lots of care.
Insightful Outcomes
Over the span of three days, students underwent thorough eye examinations. Many were advised on lifestyle and dietary habits to maintain visual health, while others received prescriptions for spectacles and medications tailored to their needs. The proactive approach not only provided immediate solutions but also instilled awareness about eye care among the students.

Students shared their reflections on how important eye health is in their daily learning from reading books to seeing the blackboard. The camp helped them physically alongside inspired conversations around the value of personal health and regular medical checkups.
