Overcoming Adversity with Courage

After losing both arms in an electric shock accident in 2011, Chandeep turned his life around. Despite his challenges, he uses his laptop, mobile phone, and does everything with his feet—proving that courage knows no bounds.

Winning Gold for India

Chandeep’s determination led him to win two gold medals for India in the Kimunyong Cup Taekwondo Championship held in South Korea. This remarkable achievement was a result of his unwavering dedication and resilience. Speaking about his victory, Chandeep said, “God is guiding me to move on in life. My next goal is the World Championships. I want to be a world champion.”

A Mother’s Pride

Jagpreet Kaur, Chandeep’s mother, reflects on his journey with pride. “His courage acted like a balm on our wounds. I feel proud as a mother,” she shared. Even after losing his arms, Chandeep returned to the sports arena with a new determination, excelling in Taekwondo and skating.

Achievements Before and After the Accident

Before his accident, Chandeep excelled in football, athletics, and skating at school, zonal, and national levels. Post-accident, he continued to achieve great milestones, including gold medals at the Asian Taekwondo Championship in Vietnam and the International Taekwondo Championship in Nepal.

Guidance from a Legend

Sports legend Milkha Singh played a pivotal role in mentoring Chandeep. “When Chandeep visited me, I was moved to see him working his laptop and mobile with his feet. He doesn’t have hands, yet he is making the country proud,” said Milkha Singh.
