A Journey of Wonder, Wisdom & Wilderness
Education does not end at the classroom door it extends into the real world, where concepts come alive. Akal Academy, Dhugga Kalan embodied this belief with an exhilarating educational trip to Science City, Kapurthala, and the ecologically rich Kanjli Wetlands. It was a day that blended science, sustainability, and spirituality into a powerful learning experience.
Shabad and Spirit
With 69 eager students and 10 enthusiastic staff members, the journey began under the guidance of Headmistress Ms. Parminder Kaur. The bus resonated with the divine hum of Shabad and Path as the group spiritually connected with the day’s purpose learning with gratitude.
Kanjli Wetlands – A Living Classroom of Biodiversity
Their first stop was the serene and verdant Kanjli Wetlands an ecological treasure recognized by UNESCO. Here, students observed how diverse species of flora and fauna coexist and learned about the fragile balance of ecosystems. Teachers explained the impact of human actions like poaching and pollution, and students left with a new appreciation for conservation and biodiversity.
Science City Kapurthala – The Universe at Their Fingertips
Next came a destination that lit every student’s eyes with excitement Pushpa Gujral Science City. From walking into the universe during the immersive laser show to exploring human anatomy and watching missile models up close, students were immersed in scientific discovery like never before.
Touching Tomorrow – Space Suits, Dinosaurs & More
Whether posing beside dinosaur statues or examining space suits used by astronauts, students stepped into the past and future all at once. Interactive exhibits and live demonstrations gave life to theories learned in school. Suddenly, physics wasn’t abstract, and biology wasn’t just about diagrams.
Learning Beyond Textbooks
Teachers played a vital role throughout connecting exhibits with classroom concepts, prompting questions, and encouraging reflection. Students found answers not on pages, but in models, visuals, and conversations.
Refreshment for Body & Mind
On the return journey, students were treated to refreshments but their minds were already full with insights, excitement, and inspiration. The day concluded with smiling faces and energized conversations.
Reflections from the Headmistress
This trip was about experiencing. Our children not only observed, but questioned, discussed, and most importantly, learned. That is what education is all about. Trips like these are more than mere outings they’re launchpads for future scientists, environmentalists, and curious learners. They open minds, stir imagination, and remind students that learning is everywhere.
