I am Rashpinder Singh, hailing from a small village in Punjab called Killi Nihal Singh. I graduated from Akal Academy Bhadaur in 2006 and later worked as a Design Engineer at Ernst & Young, Delhi. Currently, I am preparing for the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) examination, with aspirations to secure a role as an SDM and eventually become a Deputy Commissioner (DC).
The Turning Point – Admission to Akal Academy
Life-changing moments often come disguised as simple decisions. For me, it was my father’s choice to enroll me in Akal Academy Bhadaur. Being a Bank Manager and the sole earner of our middle-class family, my father made this decision to ensure a strong academic and spiritual foundation for me. He was deeply concerned about the challenges Sikh youth faced in the 1990s and believed Akal Academy would be the shield I needed.
Unleashing Potential – Supportive Teachers and Lifelong Lessons
Initially, I struggled academically, but the unwavering belief of my teachers in every student transformed my journey. Mr. Rakesh Kumar, our Physics teacher, played a pivotal role in shaping my confidence and academic skills. His mentorship remains a cornerstone of my success.
Beyond academics, Akal Academy nurtured my love for sports. I had the honor of captaining the Senior Football Team and won 2nd place in Sprint at the Zonal meet. The playground holds a special place in my heart, filled with memories of camaraderie and growth.
Navigating Challenges – Education and Career Path
After completing school, I pursued higher studies in Australia. However, due to family responsibilities, I returned to India and continued my education here. Soon after, I secured a position as a Design Engineer with Ernst & Young in Delhi.
Aspirations for the Future – Aiming for Civil Services
While my role at Ernst & Young was fulfilling, my ultimate dream is to serve society as a Civil Servant. I am determined to clear the PCS exam and begin my journey as an SDM, striving to create meaningful change in rural and urban areas alike.
Vision for Rural Education and Society
I believe education is the key to transforming society, especially in rural areas. Akal Academies have made significant strides in providing quality schooling, but there is a pressing need for more institutions offering post-school education. Establishing Engineering, Medical, and Vocational Colleges in these regions would provide students with better opportunities and guidance for their careers.
Message to Students and Parents
To fellow students: Always believe in your uniqueness and work hard to bring it to light. Stay true to yourself, keep faith in God, and pursue your dreams with determination.
To parents: Support your children’s education and aspirations, as it lays the foundation for their future.
