A Mission of Lifelong Learning
From June 2nd to 5th, 2015, Akal University proudly hosted the 20th Annual In-Service Refresher Course an intensive 3-day workshop under the banner of Continuing Professional Development. This initiative was specifically designed to refine the pedagogical prowess of Akal Academy principals and teachers from across the nation.
800 Educators, One Vision
An inspiring 800 educators took part in this transformative experience, with 50 teachers trained simultaneously in each of the 25 specially-prepared classrooms. The magnitude of participation reflected the deep-rooted dedication of the Akal Academies toward academic excellence and character-driven education.
Guided by Luminaries
The training was led under the guidance of visionary leaders like Dr. Davinder Singh (Secretary, Kalgidhar Trust), Dr. Neelam Kaur, and Dr. Gurmail Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Akal University. These stalwarts ensured every session echoed with practical wisdom, research-backed strategies, and spiritually grounded insights for effective teaching.
From Pedagogy to Purpose
Sessions ranged from innovative teaching methodologies and classroom management to value based education and technology integration. It was a journey from being instructors to becoming true mentors nurturing their minds and souls.
Honoring the Torchbearers
As the workshop concluded, a heartfelt felicitation ceremony was held to honor the tireless efforts and dedication of the educators. Participants were awarded certificates, and their commitment to shaping future generations was applauded with standing ovations.
A Divine Closure
The event culminated in a spiritually uplifting performance by Anahad Bani Jatha. Their harmonious Kirtan created a sanctified atmosphere, merging the worlds of education and divinity reminding every teacher of their sacred responsibility as torchbearers of knowledge and values.

This workshop was a celebration of the educators spirit, a reaffirmation of their purpose, and a recommitment to excellence. As they return to their academies, they carry not just refreshed skills but renewed hearts and inspired souls.
