A Day of Seva, Science & Saviourship
On June 29th, 2014, the campus of Akal Academy, Cheema Sahib in Sangrur transformed into a sanctuary of compassion and care as it hosted its 61st Free Medical Camp an initiative dedicated to serving heart and brain patients from across rural Punjab. Organized under the aegis of The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib, this medical camp stood as a powerful reminder of the Academy’s unwavering commitment to holistic community upliftment where healthcare, education, and spirituality walk hand in hand.
Lifesaving Aid – Free and Fearless
From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the camp buzzed with activity as hundreds of patients arrived, seeking medical attention that would otherwise remain a distant dream. With advanced diagnostic tools and experienced healthcare professionals, the camp offered critical check-ups, consultation, and guidance all at zero cost.
Patients received screenings for:-
- Cardiac ailments
- Neurological disorders
- Blood pressure & ECG monitoring
- Medication advice and follow-up guidance
Registration Helped at the Heart of the Village
To ensure ease of access for every needy individual, registrations were facilitated at Gurdwara Janamasthan, Cheema Sahib echoing the spirit of Sikh Seva and inclusivity.
Helplines were buzzing, families came together, and a wave of gratitude swept through the community as life-saving help reached the most forgotten corners of rural lives.
Why This Matters to Our Students
More than just a medical camp, this event was a real-world classroom for our students. It instilled the values of compassion, service, and civic responsibility. By volunteering, observing, and participating in event coordination, our students learned that real change begins with small acts of kindness and big dreams of service.
A Message to all the readers
The Akal Academy family urges every student and parent to become an ambassador of this noble cause. Share the message, spread the word, and most importantly lead with your heart.
Together, we can build a future where education and empathy go hand in hand. Let’s keep healing. Let’s keep helping.
