Jaspal Kaur hails from Sangrur, Punjab, where farming has been her family’s only source of livelihood for generations. As the first girl in her family to pursue higher education, her dream was fragile—limited not by ability, but by circumstance.
For her parents, sending their daughter to college without the burden of fees was more than financial relief. It was an act of courage and faith in a future they could only imagine.
AIRWE – Where Opportunity Found Direction
In 2014, after completing her Grade 12, Jaspal joined the Akal Institute of Rural Women Empowerment (AIRWE), Baru Sahib, an initiative of The Kalgidhar Society. The institute was created with a single mission—to ensure that rural girls are never denied education because of where they are born.
She began with a foundation programme designed to strengthen English communication and build self-confidence—two tools that would later shape her professional identity.
From Confidence Building to Academic Excellence
With growing confidence, Jaspal pursued:
- B.A. (Mathematics)
- B.A. B.Ed.
- M.Sc. in Mathematics
All her degrees were completed at Eternal University, Baru Sahib, Sirmour, a space that nurtured both intellect and inner strength.
Yet, what shaped her the most was not just the curriculum—it was the way education was lived and practiced.
Lessons Beyond the Classroom
Reflecting on her journey, Jaspal shares:
“Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji taught us that education is not only about clearing exams.
It is about becoming a person of integrity.
He reminded us never to take shortcuts and to live by values.”
These teachings became her inner compass—guiding her choices, career, and character.
Returning as a Teacher, Not Just a Graduate
After completing her M.Sc., Jaspal Kaur joined Akal Academy Reeth Kheri as a Mathematics Teacher—returning to serve within the very educational ecosystem that once uplifted her.
From a young girl hesitant to speak English, she became a teacher explaining logic and numbers with confidence.
From a farmer’s daughter, she became a professional educator.
From a beneficiary of education, she became a contributor to society.
Mentorship, Values, and Lifelong Guidance
Jaspal often shares that Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji remains her lifelong role model, and his bachan continues to guide her through every phase of life. She also credits Bhenji Charanjeet Kaur for the strength she gained through compassionate and sisterly mentorship.
Today, after a brief personal pause, she is preparing to return to service—ready to shape young minds with the same values she once received.
