From Rural Roots to National Glory – Yuvraj Singh Secures AIR 18 in NDA

A Young Achiever from Rural India

Yuvraj Singh, a 17-year-old from the remote village of Gomti, has made history by securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 18 in the highly competitive National Defence Academy (NDA) entrance exam. His success is a testament to hard work, resilience, and an unshakable dream of serving the nation.

A Legacy of Education – Parents as Pillars of Strength

Yuvraj’s journey to excellence began at Akal Academy, where his parents, Mr. Ashok Kumar and Mrs. Hemlata, dedicated their lives to rural education. Originally from Punjab, they moved to Gomti in 1998 to uplift the community through teaching. His father, an English teacher, and his mother, a social science educator turned principal, laid the foundation for Yuvraj’s academic and moral values.

Carrying Forward a Father’s Unfulfilled Dream

Yuvraj was deeply influenced by his father’s unfulfilled dream of joining the Army, which was cut short due to medical reasons. Instead of giving up, Mr. Kumar became his son’s mentor, guiding him through the rigorous NDA preparation. This family legacy of ambition and dedication became Yuvraj’s driving force, pushing him to excel.

Excelling in Academics and Beyond

Yuvraj was an A-1 grade student across all subjects, proving his academic brilliance. However, his success was not limited to studies—he actively participated in sports, extracurricular activities, and competitive exams, even contributing to Competition Success magazine. His well-rounded development prepared him for the demanding life at NDA.

Adapting to the Rigors of NDA Training

Currently undergoing intensive training at NDA Kharagwasla, Pune, Yuvraj has embraced a strict military regimen that demands discipline, physical endurance, and mental resilience. With no access to mobile phones or social media, NDA cadets focus entirely on becoming the future leaders of the Indian Army.

Inspiring Generations and Uplifting Rural Dreams

The Akal Academy community and Kalgidhar Trust celebrate Yuvraj’s achievement as a beacon of hope for rural students. His journey proves that background does not define success—hard work, determination, and quality education do.

A Call to Support Rural Education
