A Vision for Rural Transformation through Education
On 29th July 2025, The Kalgidhar Society, Baru Sahib, welcomed an esteemed guest — Dr. Gursharn Singh Randhawa, a globally renowned scientist and thought leader — during the Student Induction Programme at Akal University, Talwandi Sabo.
His visit wasn’t just ceremonial. It was a soul-stirring experience for over 600 first-year students, most of whom come from rural and underserved backgrounds.
Redefining Education Beyond Degrees
In a society often obsessed with marksheets and material achievements, Dr. Randhawa’s address reconnected students with the true purpose of education — not merely to obtain degrees, but to become conscious, value-oriented individuals.
“Education,” he said, “must shape you into compassionate citizens committed to humility, ethical leadership, and service.”
His session interwove themes of scientific innovation, spiritual growth, and human values, showing students that success isn’t just what you earn — it’s what you become.
Inspiration Rooted in Vision
The event perfectly echoed the mission laid out by Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, the founding spiritual force behind The Kalgidhar Society:
“To educate not just the intellect, but also the spirit.”
This mission fuels institutions like Akal University to empower rural youth with a blend of modern knowledge and timeless values — nurturing changemakers who remember their roots while reaching for the sky.
Impact That Echoes Beyond the Classroom
From scientific curiosity to social commitment, the event planted powerful ideas in young minds — ideas that will ripple across villages, communities, and future workplaces.
It wasn’t just a lecture — it was a launchpad for purpose.
Gratitude for Guiding Lights
The Kalgidhar Society extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gursharn Singh Randhawa for being a beacon of inspiration — illuminating a path of clarity, courage, and conviction in the hearts of India’s next generation.
