The Literary Society of the Department of English and Punjabi at Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, is hosting Literary Patchwork’17 from March 6–10, 2017. This vibrant literary festival features a series of engaging events, bringing together around 600 students from eleven departments to showcase their literary, artistic, and intellectual talents.
Exciting Events and Competitions
The festival began with the Elocution and Literary Quiz preliminary round on March 6, followed by Paint-A-Poster and Documentary Review on March 7. Students enthusiastically participated, displaying their creativity and analytical skills.
International Women’s Day Celebration
On March 8, the event marked International Women’s Day with a thought-provoking debate on the topic “Just like Housewives, we need Househusbands,” challenging traditional gender roles. Additionally, 156 students took part in the Picture Response Competition, showcasing their interpretative skills.
A Platform for Intelligence and Creativity
March 9 saw students engaging in Quiz and Caption Writing competitions, allowing them to express their wit and creativity.
Grand Finale with Kavi Darbar and Special Lecture
The festival will conclude on March 10 with a Kavi Darbar and a special lecture by renowned Punjabi poet Gurpreet, a Prof. Mohan Singh Awardee, inspiring students with his literary insights.
Literary Patchwork’17 is more than just a festival—it is a celebration of literature, creativity, and intellectual exploration, making Akal University a hub for literary excellence.
