My Experience at “Punjab at Crossroads” – By Amarpreet Ghura

We sincerely thank Amarpreet K. Ghura for graciously moderating this thought-provoking seminar and for sharing his unique insights with the gathering. His leadership, thoughtful engagement, and commitment to the cause of education enriched the dialogue and inspired everyone present. The reflections that follow are shared in his own words:

A Privilege to Moderate a Conversation for Change

I feel truly honored to have moderated the educational seminar “Punjab at Crossroads: Teach or Preach,” organized by The Kalgidhar Society — an organization dedicated to transforming lives through two universities and 130 schools spread across five states in India. With a remarkable alumni network of 70,000 students, the Society has extended free assistance to 32,332 learners, creating opportunities where they are needed most.

Addressing Punjab’s Critical Challenges

Our conversation focused on key issues that urgently need collective attention:

  • Limited Economic Opportunities — The necessity to create diverse career pathways for Punjab’s youth.
  • Drug Abuse Crisis — Confronting one of the most pressing social threats to the state’s future.
  • Increasing Migration — Understanding why young talent is leaving and how to reverse the trend.

An Esteemed Panel of Experts

It was an absolute honor to share the stage with highly respected professionals from the corporate sector and family enterprises:

  • Mr. Manpreet Singh Ahuja — Chief Clients & Alliances Officer, PwC
  • Mr. Jogendra Singh — President & Group CFO, Hero Enterprise
  • Mr. Kanwar Singh — Vice President Finance, Oracle India
  • Mr. Lavinder Singh Duggal — MD, HTL Aircon Services Pvt Ltd

Their deep insights brought multiple perspectives to the discussion, merging business experience with the educational and social realities of Punjab.

An Engaged and Inspired Audience

With over 150 participants, the seminar was more than an exchange of ideas — it was a platform for actionable change. Educators, corporate leaders, and community members discussed ways to uplift Punjab’s youth through skill development, value-based education, and societal support.

My Takeaway

Moderating this event reaffirmed my belief that education, when paired with compassion and opportunity, has the power to reshape entire communities. I commend The Kalgidhar Society for their tireless efforts in building not only educated minds but also responsible, value-driven citizens.

Thanks From The Kalgidhar Society

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Amarpreet K. Ghura for graciously moderating this thought-provoking seminar and bringing his unique insights to the table. Your leadership, engagement, and dedication to the cause of education have enriched the conversation and inspired all present. Together, we move closer to a Punjab where every young mind can dream, learn, and thrive.
