The Punjab State Team Chess Championship, organized by the Bathinda District Chess Association, took place on January 21-22, 2017, at Akal University, Talwandi Sabo. Sponsored by The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib, the championship brought together 35 teams—25 in the Men’s section and 10 in the Women’s section—from across Punjab to showcase their chess prowess.
