During one of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s journeys, a local priest approached him with a cup of milk filled to the brim, symbolizing the city’s claim that it was already full of holy men and had no need for anyone else.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji, in his infinite wisdom, plucked a jasmine petal and gently placed it on the milk. The petal floated without spilling a drop and infused the milk with its sweet fragrance.
He then responded, “There is always room for holiness and goodness. Just as one jasmine petal can perfume an entire bowl of milk, one man can fill the world with faith in God and good deeds.”
