Clean Hands, Pure Hearts – Akal Academy Gomti Students Champion Swachh Bharat with Seva

Motivated by the national Clean India Campaign, the initiative at Akal Academy Gomti was more than a routine chore it was a mission infused with purpose and pride. Under the vision of The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib, the students, staff, and Sewadars joined hands for this noble cause.
With S. Jaswant Singh Ji (Sewadar) setting the tone, the campaign was flagged off from the school’s main gate, marking the beginning of a day of collective effort, community bonding, and civic duty.

Class IX Leads the Way – Hands On Learning in Action

Leading from the front, students of Class IX took ownership of the campaign under the supervision of their dedicated teachers. Boys took charge of the external areas with sweeping and clearing tools, while the girls diligently cleaned indoor spaces each task executed with great energy and mindfulness. From classrooms to corridors, playgrounds to prayer halls, the entire school was transformed into a sparkling testimony to teamwork and discipline.

From Schoolyard to Sacred Space – Cleaning the Gurudwara Sahib

The drive started from the school building and gracefully extended to the most spiritual heart of the academy The Gurudwara Sahib. Here, students were joined by the sangat, turning the act of cleaning into an expression of devotion and reverence. With humility and harmony, each broom stroke became a silent prayer.

Words of Wisdom – Cleanliness is Spirituality

S. Jaswant Singh Ji addressed the students, sharing inspiring stories and drawing powerful parallels between cleanliness and Sikh Rehat Maryada. He gave many examples how sikh rehat of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and other Gurus became an integral part of Sikhism whether physical or spiritual. These teachings struck a chord with the students, who saw firsthand how physical tidiness and spiritual living are inseparable values in Sikhism.

Leadership in Service – A Collective Effort

The campaign was skillfully orchestrated under the leadership of newly appointed Principal Mr. Ashok Singh Guleria, who exemplified hands-on leadership by participating shoulder-to-shoulder with students and staff.
He was ably supported by a committed team of educators and coordinators including Mrs. Hemlata (Chief Coordinator), Mr. Hardeep Singh, Mr. Shauraya Singh, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Mr. Dharamveer Singh, and Ms. Nidhi Rattan. Their presence inspired students to treat the task as a cause worth embracing.
Special thanks were extended to Mr. Bhupinder Singh for capturing memorable moments and showcasing the spirit of seva through his lens.

A Message to All Students

You don’t need a special day to serve your school, your community, or your soul. Start with your desk. Your classroom. Your home. Let your actions reflect the values of Guru Sahib. Because a clean India starts with a clean corner. And a clean corner begins with you.
