Planting Seeds of Spirituality and Service
Living by the eternal values of spirituality and environmental stewardship, Akal Academy, Bhariyal Lehri once again empowered its students to rise for a noble cause protecting Mother Earth. Under the umbrella of the Punjab Greening Mission, the academy partnered with the Department of Forestry to launch a mass plantation drive that left both the soil and souls richer.
A Day of Purpose and Planting
The event welcomed esteemed guests including Pathankot Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sibin C. and Divisional Forest Officer Mr. Mahavir Singh, who stood side by side with students and teachers, planting more than 300 saplings across the school premises.
From mango to neem, from flowering bushes to shade-giving trees, each plant held a promise for a greener tomorrow.
Voices Rooted in Hope
School Principal Mrs. Jasbeer Kaur Sandhu captured the spirit of the day beautifully, saying that it is heartwarming to see these children and the planted trees grow together both providing much-needed solace to the society. The event was about connecting children connecting with the earth, the community, and their inner sense of responsibility.
What Students Learned
The plantation drive served as a hands-on classroom, teaching children about:-
• Environmental preservation
• Collective civic responsibility
• Long-term impact of green practices
• Sikh values of seva (selfless service) and sarbat da bhala (welfare of all)
A Greener Vision for the Future
The positive energy that filled the air during the event was more than just the fragrance of fresh soil it was the fragrance of change. It reflected the powerful truth that change doesn’t need to start big. A handful of soil, a small sapling, a willing heart that’s all it takes.
Final Message
Akal Academy, Bhariyal Lehri’s participation in the Punjab Greening Mission proves that our students are not only future leaders they are present-day changemakers.
Let every child remember that The trees we plant today will be the shade we sit under tomorrow.
