Akal Academy Kajri Celebrates National Heritage Week by exhibiting Rare Artifacts

Rooted in Culture, Reaching Toward Legacy

Bridging Generations Through Artifacts and Antiques. The event aimed at deepening students  appreciation for their ancestral roots while nurturing respect for diverse cultural environments. It was a celebration of stories, symbols, and the spirit of India’s rich archaeological legacy.
The exhibition featured:-
• A stunning collection of rare and Post-Harappan era coins
• Household utensils and artifacts used by grandparents
• Handcrafted jewelry boxes and traditional handicrafts
• A traditional charkha (spinning wheel), chakki (grinding mill), and even a rare lock from the Pre-British era.
Students, alongside their proud parents, curated these pieces, often sourced from their own homes testaments to love, care, and intergenerational wisdom.

The Power of Community

Families, Teachers, and Students Build History Together. Parents, teachers, and students marveled at the displays for their historical value, and the stories they carried. Each artifact reflected the memory of a generation and the mindfulness of families who chose to preserve their roots.
The event was beautifully coordinated by:
Mr. Sudhir Kumar (Ajay House Master)
Mr. Dineshwar Dutt
Mr. Philip Xavier (Librarian/Media In-Charge)
Their passion and effort made the exhibition a learning experience etched in memory.

A Call to Preserve and Pass On

In her address, Principal Mrs. Simran Kaur Thind commended Ajay House for their initiative and urged students to become custodians of their cultural inheritance.
Artifacts are the objects that connect us to who we are.  So, Preserve them, Cherish them, Pass them on.

Why Heritage Week Matters

This exhibition was an awakening reminder to all of us that
• Cultural pride begins at home
• Heritage is lived, not just remembered
• Children are the best ambassadors of tradition

To Our Readers

Preserve the things that tell your story. Ask your grandparents about the tools they used, the crafts they made, and the values they lived by. That’s how heritage lives on in our hearts.
