Hello, I am Amandeep Singh, hailing from a small village called Bhai Rupa Pind. Born into a middle-class family, I was fortunate to have parents who valued education—my father teaches at a government school, and my mother works as a lecturer at a private school. Today, I am proud to work as a Java Developer at Sapient Nitro in Gurgaon.
The Turning Point – Discovering Akal Academy
My educational journey began in a local village school, where I studied until Class 1. Recognizing the need for better educational opportunities, my parents sought alternatives. At that time, my grandmother’s brother, an active member of the Kalgidhar Trust, was involved in establishing Akal Academy in Bhadaur.
Following his recommendation, my parents decided to enroll me at Akal Academy Baru Sahib, a decision that proved transformative. The dual focus on academics and spirituality at Akal Academy shaped me into an independent, grounded individual.
Schooling That Shaped a Future
I completed my schooling up to Class 10 at Akal Academy Bhadaur and transferred to Akal Academy Baru Sahib for my +2 education. My time at Baru Sahib was deeply enriching, fostering both intellectual growth and spiritual enlightenment.
After completing school, I was accepted into the National Institute of Technology (NIT), where I pursued a B.Tech in Computer Science. With the blessings of Almighty and Baru Sahib, I secured my first job as a Java Developer at Sapient Nitro.
Fond Memories and Inspirational Mentors
The teachers at Akal Academy were more than educators—they were mentors. One person who stands out is Mr. Amarjit Singh, our Physics teacher, whose stories of real-world experiences inspired me to dream big.
Akal Academy also nurtured my love for extracurricular activities. I was passionate about basketball and bhangra, participating in numerous matches and cultural events. I even represented my college at inter-college tournaments and proudly captained our bhangra team.
A Secure Future for My Sister
My younger sister is also studying at Akal Academy, and we feel blessed knowing she is receiving a values-based education in a safe and nurturing environment.
Future Aspirations and Advice for Students
Currently, I plan to gain more experience in my role at Sapient Nitro and later pursue a master’s degree, potentially from a foreign university.
To the students of my village and Akal Academy, my advice is simple:
- Stay connected with the outside world to prepare for life after academics.
- Take full advantage of the excellent faculty and facilities at Akal Academy.
- Follow your heart and dreams with determination.
My journey from Bhai Rupa Pind to Sapient Nitro has been one of resilience, discipline, and blessings. Akal Academy played a pivotal role in shaping my character, instilling in me the values and skills needed to succeed in life.
