Amrit Singh – From Average Student to Super Alumnus – The Power of Discipline and Faith at Akal Academy Baru Sahib

A Journey of Transformation

Amrit Singh, a humble student from a typical agrarian family, has emerged as a shining example of how faith and discipline can transform lives. Currently pursuing his Chartered Accountancy (C.A.) in Patiala, Amrit credits his success to the life-changing experience at Akal Academy Baru Sahib.

The Turning Point – A Shift to Baru Sahib

Amrit’s journey took a pivotal turn when he transferred from Akal Academy Gomti to Akal Academy Baru Sahib. Initially, he was an average student with a 75% score in his 10th-grade exams, more inclined towards sports than academics. Little did he know that this shift would redefine his life.

The Power of Routine – Nitnem and Discipline

At Baru Sahib, Amrit embraced the disciplined routine of waking up early for Nitnem (morning prayers). This practice not only deepened his spiritual connection but also brought clarity and focus to his academic pursuits. His marks soared from 75% in 10th grade to an impressive 84% in 12th grade.

A Family Rooted in Faith

Amrit’s family, deeply devoted to Sikhi, has been blessed with remarkable achievements. His elder brother, Ajitpal Singh, is pursuing MBBS in Russia, and his sister is also an MBBS professional. Their father, S. Harjit Singh, a farmer, has been serving at Akal Academy since 1987, instilling strong values in his children.

The Secret to Success – Sikhi and Early Rising

Amrit attributes his success to two key practices: maintaining his Sikhi and the habit of rising early for Amrit Vela (early morning prayers). He emphasizes that while the teaching strategies and resources at both academies were similar, the spiritual environment at Baru Sahib made all the difference.

A Message to Aspiring Students

Amrit’s story is a testament to the transformative power of faith and discipline. His advice to students is simple yet profound: “Maintain your Sikhi and embrace the habit of early morning Nitnem. These practices can bring unparalleled focus and success in all aspects of life.”
