Honoring the Legacy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji
Akal Academy Kajri commemorated the 549th Prakash Purab of Dhan Dhan Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji with immense devotion and enthusiasm. Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru, shared timeless principles such as ‘Kirat Karo’ (earn honestly), ‘Naam Japo’ (meditate on God’s name), and ‘Vand Shhakko’ (share with others).
Religious Ceremonies and Akhand Path Sahib
The event began with the initiation of two Akhand Path Sahib ceremonies organized by the academy’s staff and students. The ‘Hukamnama’ was recited by Bhai Jagveer Singh, setting a spiritual tone for the celebrations.
Devotional Performances by Students
Students from Nursery to Class XII participated in a series of devotional activities, including:
- Gurbani Kirtan
- Kavishri (poetry recitation)
- Sakhis (stories of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life)
Speeches and Poems
The program was anchored by Class XI students Rajpreet Kaur and Jasdeep Kaur under the guidance of dedicated teachers, including S. Avtar Singh Sandhu, Mrs. Savita, Mr. Balvinder Singh, and Mrs. Jasbir Kaur.
Palki Sahib Procession and Panj Pyaras’ Role
After the Bhog of Akhand Path Sahib, the beautifully decorated Palki Sahib of Guru Granth Sahib Ji was carried to the main pandal amidst the recitation of the Shabad “Jithe Jaye Bahe Mera Satguru So Thaan Suhawa Ram Rajje.” Senior boys played the revered role of Panj Pyaras during this divine procession.
Spiritual Discourse by Bhai Nachattar Singh
Bhai Nachattar Singh, a Katha Wachak from Gurmat Gyan Missionary College Ludhiana, inspired the audience with his enlightening discourse, sharing the teachings and values of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Principal’s Address and Annual Report
Principal Mrs. Simran Kaur Thind welcomed the gathering and shared a heartfelt speech on the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. She also highlighted the academy’s achievements in her annual report, celebrating the success of students and staff.
Art & Craft Exhibition and Free Eye Check-Up Camp
An art and craft exhibition, featuring student-made creations with teacher guidance, drew significant attention. A handcrafted model of Akal Academy Kajri became the centerpiece of admiration. Additionally, a free eye check-up camp conducted by One Beat Hospital Bhira was highly appreciated by the visitors.
