From Five Students to 130 Schools – The Echoes of a Rural Education Revolution

A Dream Takes Root (1986)

In 1986, Baba Iqbal Singh Ji gathered five children in a humble thatched classroom at Baru Sahib. It wasn’t just a school—it was the beginning of a movement to uplift rural children through education.

Growing Against the Odds (2004)

By 2004, The Tribune spotlighted Akal Academy’s rise. The Kalgidhar Society had already expanded to 22 Akal Academies across Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and even Delhi, coaching students for top careers.

A Movement, Not Just a School (2025)

Fast forward to 2025, and that small school has grown into 130 Akal Academies, empowering thousands of rural students. Many are now toppers, professionals, and leaders, proving that education can break poverty cycles.
