Journey to Success – From Akal Academy to Morgan Stanley’s Vice President

Early Dreams and Educational Aspirations

Post my 12th, I pursued an integrated B.Tech and M.Tech course in Computer Science from IIT Delhi. The motivation and guidance for appearing in the IIT entrance came from my teacher and mentor, Mr. Amarjeet Singh. Without his encouragement, I might never have made it to IIT. After successfully completing my course, I was blessed with a job at Morgan Stanley, Mumbai, where I have now spent 7½ years. I currently serve as the Vice President in the IT Department, managing a team of six.

Humble Beginnings and a Life-Changing Decision

I come from a simple middle-class family. My father works as a government employee, and my mother is a housewife. Around the time I was in the 4th standard, many of my friends joined day boarding schools. Intrigued by the idea, I expressed my wish to join one. However, there weren’t many reputed options near our small town. Fortunately, a senior colleague of my father introduced us to Akal Academy, Baru Sahib.

Why Akal Academy Was the Perfect Choice

Upon visiting Akal Academy, my family was thoroughly impressed by its opportunities, facilities, curriculum, and infrastructure. The unique combination of academic excellence and spiritual-religious education made it an unparalleled option.

Reflections on Akal Academy’s Impact

Now, 14 years later, living in a metropolitan city like Mumbai, I realize the immense value of my education at Akal Academy. Even today, its standards in infrastructure, faculty, and holistic development remain at par with top schools in Delhi and Mumbai.

The academy fostered a family-like atmosphere. I and my batchmates shared personal bonds with our teachers and staff. Some of the most memorable teachers include Dr. Davinder Singh (Biology), Venkatesh Sir, and Ms. Misha Valer Mati, a science teacher who deeply inspired us. Mr. Pandhir, despite his age, was a remarkable Maths and Physics teacher whose lessons were unforgettable.

Fostering the Spirit of Giving Back

Akal Academy instilled in me a deep sense of service to others. I am particularly passionate about educating rural children, especially those living in poverty. Education is a transformative tool that can change their lives. Currently, my team and I participate in social activities through our company, teaching children in schools.

The Need for Awareness in Rural Education

I believe organizations like the Kalgidhar Trust are doing exceptional work by providing education to underprivileged children. However, more awareness needs to be created among rural parents about the importance of education to inspire them to send their children to school.

The values and lessons I imbibed at Akal Academy continue to guide me in my professional and personal life. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and mentorship I received.

Wishes & Regards,
