Maninder Thind – Leading the Way in Oil and Gas Management

This is the inspiring story of Maninder Thind, an alumnus of Akal Academy Baru Sahib, whose journey from a small village in Punjab to becoming a Territory Manager at Bharat Petroleum exemplifies determination, hard work, and dedication.

The Journey Begins in Baru Sahib

Hailing from Jahlan village in Patiala, Punjab, Maninder joined Akal Academy Baru Sahib in 1994 after completing his 5th grade at another school. The transition to Baru Sahib’s serene valley—where the sound of students reciting Gurbani echoes in the early morning—presented both challenges and opportunities. Adapting to this unique environment, Maninder embraced the spiritual and academic rigor of the institution.

After completing his 10th grade, he continued his education at Mahindra College, Patiala, for his 11th and 12th grades. His growing interest in the technical field marked the beginning of a career path that would take him to remarkable heights.

Educational Pursuits and Professional Milestones

Maninder’s journey in higher education began at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Engineering and Technology in Ferozpur, where he pursued a B.Tech degree. With a clear vision of his future, he went on to the University of Petroleum in Dehradun, earning an MBA in Oil and Gas Management.

During campus placements, Maninder secured a position as Assistant Manager at Bharat Petroleum. He started his career in Jammu, where he worked diligently for four and a half years before being promoted to Deputy Manager and relocated to Patiala. After gaining three more years of experience, his professional journey culminated in his current role as a Territory Manager at Bharat Petroleum in Allahabad.

A Role Model for Aspiring Professionals

Maninder’s journey exemplifies the importance of perseverance and setting ambitious goals. Reflecting on his achievements, one can truly appreciate the wisdom in the saying, “A goal is always meant to be reached; it often serves simply as something to aim at.”
