Rhymes of the Nation
To instill a deeper sense of patriotism and develop literary skills, on the 70th Independence Day celebrations, the school organized a spirited Patriotic Poetry Recitation Competition for students of Grades VI to X. The goal is to help the young generation connect emotionally with their nation’s legacy while sharpening their creative voice. With hearts full of pride and nerves dancing in rhythm, the students stepped forward one by one each with a poem, each with a purpose.
When Words Took Flight – The Competition Unfolds
The event kicked off with an enthusiastic welcome from Abhai House Master, Mr. Vattanpreet Singh, who introduced the participants and set the tone for the morning. The spotlight was then on the “little wonders” of the school who delivered self-written patriotic poems raw, emotional, and straight from the heart. Music teacher Mr. Balwinder Singh also played a pivotal role in inspiring students to pen their original pieces.
“Poetry is the rhythm of the soul, And what better rhythm than that of freedom?”
The competition was judged on various criteria voice clarity, rhythm, confidence, presentation, and creative use of props. Each performance was met with applause, each verse a heartfelt tribute to the motherland.
Voices That Touched Hearts
While every participant left a mark with their performance, it was Parveen Kaur and Satinder Kaur who captured both the audience’s and the judges’ admiration. Their recitations were powerful, and filled with conviction, and delivered with clarity and confidence that belied their age. They secured the coveted First Position. Their victory was a celebration of voice, identity, and patriotism.
More Than a Competition – A Mission to Inspire
The Patriotic Poetry Recitation was an inspiring event to awaken national pride, nurture writing talent, and build confident young citizens who can express their love for their country with grace and boldness. Such initiatives at Akal Academy Kajri continue to reflect its commitment to holistic education where creativity meets character, and culture meets expression.
