“Maa, did you hear? Sunita Williams is back home from space!” Simran burst into their small home in Reeth Kheri, her schoolbag swinging behind her.
Her mother, Meera, looked up from kneading dough. “Who is Sunita, beta?”
“Maa! She is an astronaut! She traveled beyond the sky, lived in space, and worked with machines that float in the air! And you know what?” Simran’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “I want to be like her!”
A Mother’s Doubt
Meera chuckled, brushing a strand of hair from Simran’s face. “Oh, my little dreamer… But such big dreams need big schools and big cities.”
Simran stood tall, her confidence unwavering. “Maa, I study at Akal Academy, Reeth Kheri! My teachers say that with hard work and faith, even the sky isn’t the limit. We learn Science, English, and even coding! If Sunita Williams can go to space and return home with pride, why can’t I?”

Simran grinned. “One day, I will go to space, Maa. And I will make Reeth Kheri proud.”
