Rising Above Adversity – Lieutenant Harinder Singh’s Journey from Village to Indian Army

From Humble Beginnings to a Bright Future

Born into a farming family in a small village, pursuing education was not easy for Harinder Singh and his younger sister. Despite financial challenges, their father, with the grace of Almighty and support from Akal Academy, ensured they received quality education. Today, both siblings have successfully built their careers, bringing happiness and comfort to their parents. Harinder’s sister, also an Akal Academy alumnus, is now embarking on her career journey after completing her BCA.

The Path to Indian Defence Academy

Harinder’s entry into the Indian Defence Army was a destined journey. After joining Akal Academy Reethkheri for its specialized IIT coaching, he was inspired by a teacher, Mr. A.O Sir, to apply for the NDA entrance exam. The process involved interviews and rigorous tests spread over 12 days in Bhopal. With determination and guidance from his Academy, Harinder cleared the tests, earning a spot on the prestigious merit list. This proud moment brought immense joy to his family and village.

Training at NDA Pune

Currently in the final year of his three-year training program at NDA Pune, Harinder is also pursuing a B.Sc. degree alongside military training. Once completed, he will proceed to IMA Dehradun for nine months of advanced training before joining the Army as a Lieutenant.
