In a heartfelt initiative to connect students with the rich spiritual legacy of Sikhism, Akal Academy, Daula recently screened a short animated film on the lives of Bhai Subeg Singh Ji and his son Bhai Shahbaz Singh Ji. The visual storytelling, shown on smart boards as part of the academy’s monthly activity calendar, left an indelible mark on the young hearts and minds of our students.
Animation Meets Devotion
The film, beautifully crafted with emotive visuals and historical depth, brought alive one of the most inspiring yet lesser-known chapters of Sikh history. It narrates how Bhai Subeg Singh Ji, a noble courtier, and his son Bhai Shahbaz Singh Ji, a young boy full of wisdom and devotion, embraced martyrdom for refusing to forsake their Sikh faith.

As the film unfolded, students witnessed not only the pain of injustice, but the grace, strength, and spiritual poise with which the father-son duo faced their trials. Bhai Subeg Singh Ji, through both his words and deeds, taught his son the power of righteous living, loyalty to truth, and unwavering submission to divine will.

The screening was a portal into the soul of Sikhi. Post-viewing, many students expressed how moved they were by the sacrifices made by Sikh heroes. It sparked meaningful classroom discussions around bravery, moral integrity, and the value of standing firm in one’s beliefs even in the face of death.
