Randeep Singh, hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, always aspired to serve the nation as an Army officer. Witnessing the Army life during his childhood left a lasting impression on him, inspiring him to pursue this noble profession.
Academic Journey at Akal College of Engineering & Technology
An alumnus of Akal College of Engineering & Technology (ACET), Baru Sahib, Randeep was part of the first engineering batch (2007-2011). His time at ACET was transformative, with mentors like Mr. Rathore and Capt. Rahul Kumar shaping him into a disciplined and dedicated professional.
The SSB Experience – A Step Closer to His Dream
In November 2014, Randeep appeared for the Services Selection Board (SSB) at Allahabad under the Technical entry scheme. Out of 400 candidates, 32 were shortlisted, and eventually, only five were recommended for medical evaluation. The wait for the merit list was nerve-wracking but worth it when Randeep found his name on the list—a moment of immense pride for him and his family.
Joining the Indian Army
On April 5, 2014, Randeep joined the Officer Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai for 49 weeks of rigorous training. On April 14, 2015, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant and Infantry Officer in the Indian Army, fulfilling his lifelong dream of serving the nation.
Spiritual and Academic Foundation at Akal College
Randeep credits Akal College for instilling discipline, spirituality, and a sense of routine in him. The teachings at the institution helped him stay connected to his roots, values, and Sikh heritage. Qualities like teamwork, morality, and leadership, nurtured during his education, proved invaluable in his Army career.
Inspiration and Support from Family
Randeep’s mother has been a constant source of inspiration, teaching him balance and morality in life. Her guidance and support helped him stay grounded while pursuing his ambitions.
Future Aspirations and Message to the Youth
Randeep’s goal is to grow as a professional, lead by example, and inspire future generations. His motto is to uphold the values of discipline, morality, and respect, particularly for women in society. He encourages the youth to strive for excellence, stay away from drugs, and contribute positively to society.
