Baru Sahib proudly received a Souvenir and Certificate from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for its outstanding contribution to solar innovation. Two first-stage Solar Cookers (Scheffler, 10 sq m) were installed, capable of preparing meals for 100 people.
This pioneering project, provided free of cost by MNRE, marked Baru Sahib as the first site in India to house such technology. Declared a “Solar Village” by the Himachal Pradesh Government, Baru Sahib continues to inspire renewable energy solutions nationwide.
The installed Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) system utilizes focused sunlight to generate electricity and process heat. Its success has led to its replication across various locations in India, paving the way for a sustainable future.
