Jasmeen grew up in a loving home, but one aspect of her life deeply troubled her—the sight of her father consuming alcohol. Despite being a young girl, she had the wisdom to recognize the harm addiction could cause. Each time she witnessed it, her heart sank.
Determined to bring change, Jasmeen courageously voiced her concerns. She protested and urged her father to give up alcohol, but her pleas often went unheard. The cycle of addiction persisted, casting a shadow over the family’s happiness.
The Turning Point – A Tragic Night
One stormy evening, the family set out for dinner at a relative’s house. The journey soon turned perilous as heavy rain made driving nearly impossible. The vehicle’s wipers stopped functioning, making visibility challenging on the dark, winding road.
As fate would have it, the family’s car collided with a tree and tumbled into a ditch. The accident left everyone injured—Jasmeen’s father suffered severe leg wounds, her mother sustained head injuries, and Jasmeen herself fractured her foot.
A Life-Changing Realization
The accident was a wake-up call for Jasmeen’s father. Lying in the hospital, he reflected on the consequences of his actions and the unwavering determination of his daughter. Overwhelmed by guilt and pride in his daughter’s strength, he made a life-altering decision.
Embracing a New Path
Inspired by Jasmeen’s courage, her parents embraced a spiritual lifestyle. They chose to be baptized, committing themselves to a life free of alcohol, drugs, and meat. Their home transformed into a haven of peace, filled with daily prayers and the uplifting energy of ‘Simran.’
