Eighteen-year-old Navdeep Singh from Muktsar, Punjab, created history by securing All India Rank 1 in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2017. His exceptional performance made his family and school immensely proud.
Outstanding NEET Score
Navdeep achieved an extraordinary 697 marks out of 700, topping the exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). His outstanding score placed him ahead of 12 lakh students who appeared for the medical entrance test. Archit Gupta and Manish Mulchandani from Indore secured AIR 2 and AIR 3, respectively.
Navdeep’s Reaction to His Success
The young topper shared his surprise at securing the top rank. “I was hopeful of clearing the exam but had not expected to become the All India Topper,” he told Hindustan Times.
Proud Parents and Their Support
Navdeep’s mother, Simarjeet Kaur, expressed immense joy over her son’s success and credited his hard work for the achievement. His father, Gopal Singh, serves as the Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Charewan, Muktsar, while his mother works for Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).

Navdeep’s remarkable feat received widespread appreciation, including congratulations from Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, who lauded his dedication and success.
